Location:  Onleyville Neighborhood Association
Street:  122 Manton Ave Suite 8
City/Town:  Providence, RI

Not long before the 6th anniversary of the death of peace activist Rachel Corrie by an Israeli military bulldozer, Tristan Anderson, 38, was critically injured on Friday, March 13th by Israeli troops during protests against Israel’s Wall in the West Bank village of Ni’lin. He was shot in the head with a teargas canister, as Israeli IDF forces attacked unarmed demonstrators protesting against construction of the annexation wall through the village of Ni’lin. Another resident from Ni’lin was shot in the leg with live ammunition.

We’ve heard a lot about this lately because Tristan is an American citizen. But every day, Palestinian men, women and children are being maimed and killed by IDF forces, supported by our government.

Gather with friends of Tristan and Palestine solidarity activists to discuss the struggle and solidarity building efforts.

Thursday, March 26 7:00-900
Onleyville Neighborhood Association
122 Manton Ave Ste 8
Providence, RI 02909

Discussion & Gathering 7:00 0PM-9:00PM

Press conference at SF Israeli Consulate

March 26, 2009
12:00 pmto3:00 pm

Please join friends of Tristan’s for a press conference and rally at the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco.

THURSDAY March 26 2009 at Noon
Rally and Press Conference at the SF Israeli Consulate
456 Montgomery at Sacramento

Tristan Anderson is an internationally-known activist and
photojournalist who was shot by Israeli Defense Forces on March 13, 2009
in the town of Ni'lin while demonstrating against the Israeli apartheid
wall that runs through the West Bank. He remains in critical condition
at Tel Hashorem in Israel.

Friends of Tristan and Palestine is a group of activists, lawyers,
musicians, artists and community members seeking justice for Tristan
self determination for the Palestinian people.

We hold the Israeli military accountable for Tristan's shooting. We
demand that the state of Israel cover all of Tristan's medical expenses,
which are extensive. We also call on Barbara Lee to speak up in the name
of injured constituent, and to join countless others in protesting
Israel's flaunting of international law.

On Monday March 16, 2009, after an entirely peaceful rally, a number of
Tristan's friends returned to the Israeli consulate in San Francisco,
where they were violently attacked by police. Eight were wrongfully
arrested. Many were beaten. One activist was taken in an ambulance to
receive nine staples for a head injury from a police baton.

We demand all charges dropped for those arrested peacefully
demonstrating on March 16. We demand accountability from the officers
who were involved in the attack. We feel confident that the video will
show the politically motivated nature of the arrests. The press will be
invited to view video and draw their own conclusions on the matter.

We will be gathering at the Israeli consulate at noon for speakers,
music, and art . We will show videos of Tristan, as well as SFPD's attack
on protestors. We stand in solidarity with Palestine and support
self-determination and autonomy for all people. TBA performers musicians
spoken word performances etc. Please forward and distribute widely. See
you there.
